THE EQUALIZER!

THE EQUALIZER!

The Rap Sheet has a nice article today on the classic ‘80s show, The Equalizer, starring Edward Woodward as a veteran covert operative who, seeking redemption for his dark deeds, quits a CIA-like agency and puts a classified advertisement in the paper reading simply: "Got a problem? Odds against you? Call the Equalizer."

Edward Woodward was perfect in the role of Robert McCall bringing to it all of the deadly charm he displayed as a reluctant professional killer for a shadowy branch of the British Government's intelligence services known as 'the Section' in the British crime series Callan from ’67 to ’72. The show was best when elements from McCall’s espionage past reared up to bite at him.

I was pleased to learn from the article crime novelists Michael Connelly and Terrill Lee Lankford are reportedly working on the script for a big-screen adaptation of the series.

  2. I loved the Equalizer. It was one of my favorite shows when I was growing up. I wonder who they will get to play him in the movie.
