PULP NOW: SHADOWS OF THE OPERA!

PULP NOW: SHADOWS OF THE OPERA!

RICK LAI

NOW AVAILABLE!

The shadow of evil stalks the city of lights! In 19th century Paris the Black Coats reign supreme! The crime syndicate has ruined the life of Darlla Rassendyll. Her fate lies in the hands of Erik, the enigmatic Phantom of the Opera. He trains her to be The Revenant, the masked scourge of the underworld.

The Revenant finds herself in combating the greatest criminals of the gaslight era. Monsieur Nemo! Josephine Balsamo! Count Corbucci! The Green Lamia! Dr. Nikola! Countess Yalta the Nihilist Spy! The Carcosa Cult! Yet her greatest challenge will be her mentor. When the Phantom of the Opera goes on a murderous rampage, The Revenant is the only one capable of stopping him!

Prepare to enter a dark fantasy in the tradition of Walter Gibson's pulp fiction and the Wold-Newton Universe of Philip Jose Farmer! Rick Lai, author of “Chronology of Shadows” and noted scholar of the Wold-Newton Universe, brings to vivid life an unforgettable world of intrigue and excitement in his first-ever collection of New Pulp tales! Cover and interior art by renowned artist David Burton.

The book is both a prequel and a sequel to Gaston Leroux's Phantom Of The Opera. In Leroux's novel, the Phantom wasn't the only mysterious personage living under the Paris Opera House. There was a strange being called "the shadow" or "the shade." A theory about the identity of this "shadow" was presented in my earlier book, Chronology Of Shadows. Now the theory has been put into practice.

Shadows Of The Opera also features the major enemies of Sherlock Holmes, Arsene Lupin and A. J. Raffles.
