I'm excited to announce, Lie Catchers, my latest detective novel has been released into the wild. Published by Pro Se Productions, it's available in trade paperback and e-book via all the usual outlets. Thanks to all of you who waited patiently as I wrote my way through the intricate maze this novel presented. Being passionate about the Art of Interrogation made this story challenging as I felt an obligation to get things as close to the truth as fiction would allow. Lie Catchers is not just a tale about asking questions – It’s about asking the right questions in the right way to get to the right truth.

Every interrogator knows truth is an elusive and ever changing concept. For lie catchers Ray Pagan and Calamity Jane Randall, it has become an obsession. Having spent so much time in my head with these two, they have become so real I wouldn’t be surprised to bump into them on the street – or at least in the interrogation room.

In my 35 years with the LAPD, I’ve interviewed and interrogated uncountable individuals. Successfully getting them to tell me their deepest secrets became second nature. What was more important, however, was to understand why they told me. It is relatively easy to know when an individual is being deceptive. It is more difficult to know what to do with that knowledge. Every suspect is different. Every case is different. Every truth is different. These were the experiences I wanted to bring to the pages of Lie Catchers.

All the techniques Pagan and Randall use in Lie Catchers to pursue the truth are drawn from real experiences. The things that work, the things that don’t, the mistakes, and the breakthroughs all echo the truths I know about interrogation.

Oscar Wilde claimed, Truth is rarely pure and never simple. As you open the pages of Lie Catchers, get ready for the ground to shift as you join Pagan and Randall in chasing the truth

* LIE CATCHERS *

THE LATEST COP NOVEL

FROM PAUL BISHOP

With her special abilities, top LAPD Robbery-Homicide detective Calamity Jane Randall thought she knew all about interrogation until she was partnered with detective Ray Pagan. Wielding a suspect’s vocal intonations, emotions, and physical gestures like a scalpel, Pagan’s empathetic lie catching abilities are legendary.
Both detectives are scarred by past tragedies, but together they threaten to tear the city apart searching for a duo of missing children – a search where the right answer to the wrong question can mean sudden death.

Ripped from the experiences of thirty-five year veteran LAPD detective and nationally recognized interrogator, Paul Bishop, Lie Catchers takes the reader inside the dark and dangerous mind games of the men and women for whom truth is an obsession
